The name AMMO derives from the scientific name 'ammodytes' which is the family name for the many species of sandeels, one of the most prolific bait fish in the North Atlantic.

Established in 1978, we are the largest supplier of blast frozen baits to the fishing tackle trade in the UK and Ireland. We have for years been the principal supplier of frozen baits for EFSA and International championships held in the UK and Ireland. At least six British Record fish have been caught on our baits. These include Blonde Ray (Boat), Blonde Ray (Shore), Small Eyed Ray, Sea Trout & Black Bream, as well as numerous regional and county records and a lot of big bass!
